"What's the worst curse in this world ?" Yes, it's none other than Poverty. That's why United Nations has catapulted "No Poverty", one of the 1st goal of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals which aims to "Eradicate poverty in all its forms everywhere".

Targets, Indicators & Progress

A total of 7 Targets has been specified by the United Nation for SDG-1 to fight with this penury,
Out of which 5 are to be reached by 2030 and 2 have no specified date.

Challenges 

  • Impact of COVID-19 pandemic - This sudden pandemic in 2020 caused an increase in poverty all across the globe.
  • Impacts of the Russian invasion of Ukraine - impacted global trade and led to a spike in food, energy prices and impeded access to finance, which increases the poverty.
